Created by business people, for business - STEMatch COMPETE began as an experiment by tech delivery and tech-user companies such as IBM, Mimecast, State Street Bank and Harvard Pilgrim Health Care. Tech execs evaluated the cybersecurity curriculum at MassBay Community College - and interviewed and assessed students’ “hireability”, to determine if community colleges (which are majority/minority) could be a scalable talent feeder for tech jobs.

The tech execs’ unanimous conclusion? Yes, community college students CAN be effective entry-level hires, with additional work skills training, mentoring, and internship experience.
